Privacy policy

Nothing leaves your computer unless you press “Share online”. Recording, editing, trimming, cropping and exporting all happen on your own device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics anywhere in this extension.

What is stored on your device

Your recordings. Held in the browser's own storage on your machine, and deleted automatically 24 hours after they finish. A recording is kept past that only while it is still uploading, or if it could not be finished and is waiting to be recovered.
Your preferences. Where you dragged the control bar, and whether the camera and microphone are switched on.
An anonymous device key. A random identifier and a random secret, generated on your device. It is what proves a shared recording is yours so that only you can delete it. It is not derived from anything about you, your hardware, or your browser.

What is sent when you choose to share

Pressing “Share online” — and only that — uploads a recording. At that point the following is sent:

The secret half of the device key is never stored as given — only a one-way hash of it is kept, so a breach of this service cannot be used to delete or claim your recordings.

Who can watch a shared recording

Anyone who has the link. Share links are unguessable but they are not password protected, so treat a link like the recording itself. Every shared recording, and its link, is deleted automatically 24 hours after it was shared.

What is never collected

No name, email address, or account of any kind.
No browsing history, no page contents, no form input, no keystrokes.
No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or fingerprinting.
Nothing is ever sold, rented, or shared for advertising.

The only third party involved is Cloudflare, which stores and delivers shared videos on this service's behalf.

Camera and microphone

Both stay off until you switch them on, and each is used only while recording. The microphone is mixed into the recording's audio. The camera is shown as a bubble on the page, which means it appears in the recording the same way anything else on your screen does. Neither is accessed at any other time.

Why the extension asks for each permission

Access to websites	The controls have to be able to appear on whichever page you record, and stay there when it navigates. Page content is never read or sent.

Deleting your data

On your device: open “My recordings” and delete it, or wait for the automatic 24 hour cleanup.
A shared copy: use “Delete online copy”. It is removed from Cloudflare and the link stops working immediately.
Removing the extension deletes everything it stored on your device.

Children

This extension is a general-purpose recording tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
